Lara O. Badmus

Lawyer

Lara O. Badmus is the principal owner of Lara Law, a “startup” law practice which commenced operations in March 2023. She has been a lawyer for 29 years and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2010.

 

Lara practices primarily in the areas of Commercial Law including Real Estate, Family Law & Litigation and Wills & Estates.

 

Lara’s past employments for approximately 9 years, before returning to law practice, were in ethical compliance oversight roles. 

 

Some Notable facts

  • First Nigerian Immigrant female lawyer called to the Manitoba Bar;

  • Recipient of NAMI (Nigerian Association of Manitoba) outstanding community volunteer award;

  • Recognition by the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, The Honourable Anita R. Neville, for work in support of WISE (Working in Support of Equality) in Manitoba.

 

 Fun fact:

  • A lover of fashion, with plans to attend the New York Fashion Week and the Paris Fashion Week.

Articling Student

Dr. Constant Kouassi has an academic background in Ethics and Law, having graduated from prestigious institutions such as Laval University and Sherbrooke University in Canada.

 

He brings knowledge and expertise to his roles as a University Lecturer and a dedicated public servant

within various federal department compliance sections.

 

Dr. Kouassi completed his NCA accreditation at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and successfully underwent the CPLED (Canadian Professional Legal Education) process, demonstrating his dedication to continuous professional growth.

 

Dr. Kouassi serves as an articling student at Lara Law, where he contributes significantly to research and legal reviews.

 

His dedication to expanding his skills and honing his expertise aligns perfectly with the diverse

practice areas of the Lara Law firm.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Kouassi is passionate about Soccer and Basketball.

Paralegal

Shelomech Pinnock has demonstrated capabilities in the areas of office administration, and paralegal functions.

 

She comes with considerable work experience of over 24 years as a health professional in the health sector – specifically, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

​

Shelomech works as a part-time Paralegal primarily in the Real Estatedepartment of LARA LAW where she brings her experience in administration to bear in her functions.

​

In her spare time, Shelomech is an accomplished musician and plays at various events including the Folklorama and in her local church.

Legal Assistant

Jemima Agboola is an undergraduate student and a pursuant of a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a

minor in Computer Science.

​

She is deeply fascinated by the intricate relationship between individuals and believes that the fusion of

social sciences with technological innovations should be understood and applied when addressing

complex issues in society.

​

She is driven by a strong aspiration to become a practicing lawyer and contribute her analytic skills and

social awareness to advocate for justice and societal change.

​
